Ojakgyo

Community Guidelines

Effective Sep 20, 2026 · Version 2026-09-20

Ojakgyo is a place for serious relationships with marriage in mind. If you treat each other as brothers and sisters in the same church, most of these rules follow naturally. Below is what that looks like in practice.

This English version is provided for reference. If the two versions differ in meaning, the Korean version prevails.

Contents
  1. An honest profile
  2. Respectful conversation
  3. Marriage in mind
  4. Respect for faith
  5. Each other's privacy
  6. Not allowed
  7. Reports and enforcement

1.An honest profile

  • Upload photos of yourself taken within the last two years. No heavy retouching, group photos or pictures of public figures.
  • State your age, marital history, children, faith, education and occupation truthfully. If they differ from your documents, verification is refused and sanctions may follow.
  • If you are preparing for baptism, say so. Preparing is not a problem in itself.
  • Write your introduction in your own words. Do not include contact details or social handles.

2.Respectful conversation

  • Read the profile and write your first message to that person specifically. At least 20 characters.
  • Decline briefly, and only once. Decline reasons are never shown to the other person, so choose honestly.
  • If someone does not reply or declines, do not contact them elsewhere or press them for reasons.
  • No comments on appearance, age, job or wealth, no sexual content, and no pressuring for informal speech.
  • Keep what you learn about someone in conversation private.

3.Marriage in mind

Ojakgyo is not a dating app. Rather than keeping light conversations going with many people at once, we encourage getting to know a few people seriously. That is why requests are limited to 3 a day and every request must include a message. If you are already in a relationship or not looking to marry, please set your visibility to Hidden or delete your account.

4.Respect for faith

  • Sabbath practice, diet and church roles differ from person to person. Respect what is written in the profile and do not pressure anyone to change in conversation.
  • Doctrinal debates and criticism of specific churches, pastors or institutions do not belong here.
  • Disparaging other denominations or religions is prohibited.
  • No soliciting for mission support, offerings or organizational membership in any form.

5.Each other's privacy

  • Do not screenshot or share another member's profile, photos or messages outside the Service—including sending a photo to church friends to ask whether they know the person.
  • Do not store or pass on a legal name or contact details learned after connecting.
  • Do not try to find social accounts the other person has not shared.
  • When a relationship ends, delete the photos and contact details you received.

6.Not allowed

  • False information, using others' photos or documents, impersonation
  • Use by people who are married or in a relationship
  • Asking for money, goods or investment; scams; advertising; sales
  • Sexual content or requests, asking for private photos
  • Threats, harassment, stalking, discriminatory remarks
  • Putting contact details in your profile text or messages to bypass review
  • Sending the same message to many people
  • Multiple accounts, or re-registering after a sanction

7.Reports and enforcement

Ojakgyo runs without staff in the loop. Profile review is automated and rule-based; document verification is an automated pre-check followed by the operator. Conversations are not monitored continuously; the operator reviews records only when a report is filed.

  • Step 1, warning: minor violations. Notice with a request to fix the content
  • Step 2, suspension: repeated violations, harassment or requests for money. Login blocked for a period and profile hidden
  • Step 3, termination: serious violations such as fake profiles, stolen photos, scams or use by married people. Account deleted and re-registration blocked

A sanctioned member may respond by email at [email protected]. The identity of a reporter is never disclosed to the reported person.
