1.Purpose and nature of the service

These terms govern the use of the Ojakgyo service (the "Service") operated by Kohwoon & Company Co., Ltd. (the "Company"). The Service is a tool that presents member-written profiles to other members and lets them start a conversation through a request-and-accept flow.

The Company does not choose partners on a member's behalf, does not arrange meetings, and does not guarantee that any marriage will result. Profile review is a rule-based automated process; document verification is an automated pre-check followed by operator confirmation. A badge means a submitted document was checked; it does not vouch for a member's faith or character.

2.Definitions

  • Member: a person who has agreed to these terms and created an account
  • Profile: the introduction, photos, faith, education, career and preference information a member writes
  • Verification badge: a mark shown when the operator has confirmed a document a member submitted
  • Request: a proposal to meet, sent with a message from one member to another
  • Connection: the state after a request is accepted and a conversation opens between two members
  • Visibility: a member's setting for who may see their profile (public, limited, hidden)

3.Eligibility

The Service may be used only by people who meet all of the following.

  • 19 years of age or older
  • A member of the SDA Church, or preparing for baptism
  • Not currently married, and seeking a relationship with marriage in mind
  • Signing up in person with their own email address, and holding only one account

At signup you must separately agree to these terms, the privacy policy, and the processing of religious information (sensitive personal data). If a member is found not to qualify, the Company may suspend or terminate the account.

4.Account and security

  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters with both letters and numbers, and members must keep them safe.
  • Accounts may not be lent or transferred to anyone else.
  • Login sessions expire after 30 days, and you can sign out of all devices from Settings.
  • If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and let the Company know.

5.Profiles and review

Members must fill in every profile field truthfully. On submission the profile goes through a rule-based automated review and passes when all required fields are complete and the text contains no contact details, social handles or inappropriate language. The criteria are published on the How it works page.

Document verification is optional, except that members who selected Baptized must submit a baptism certificate or membership letter, and all members must submit a masked government ID to pass review. If a document's authenticity is in doubt the Company may request further material or refuse verification.

Edits to an approved profile are re-checked with the same rules, and if a required item is missing the profile is hidden from other members until it is fixed.

6.False information and sanctions

Misstating age, marital status, faith, education or occupation, using another person's photos or documents, or impersonating anyone is prohibited. When confirmed, the Company may apply one or more of: a warning, hiding the profile, suspension, or termination.

Sanctions are decided on the basis of reports, documents and conversation records, and a member may respond by email. A member who causes harm to others through deliberate false information bears responsibility for it.

7.Prohibited conduct

  • Providing false information, using others' photos or documents, impersonation
  • Asking for money or goods, soliciting investment or business, recruiting for MLM or other organizations
  • Sexual content, abusive language, threats, harassment, discriminatory remarks
  • Capturing or sharing another member's profile, photos or conversations outside the Service
  • Putting contact details or social handles into your profile text or messages to bypass review
  • Sending the same message to many members or using the Service for commercial purposes
  • Scraping, automated access, or probing the Service's security
  • Creating multiple accounts, or re-registering after a sanction

8.Fees

Signing up, viewing profiles, sending requests and messaging are currently free. The Company may introduce paid features in the future; if so, it will announce the content, price and start date in the Service and by email before they begin, and obtain the member's consent.

No fee will be charged retroactively for features that were provided free. Payment and refund terms for paid features will be set out and announced when they are introduced.

9.Interactions between members

You may send up to 3 requests a day, and unanswered requests expire after 7 days. Conversations after connecting, sharing contact details and meeting in person are all the member's own decision and responsibility.

The Company does not continuously monitor conversations between members and reviews records only when a report is filed. Members may block or report anyone at any time, and are encouraged to read and follow the safety guide.

10.Termination

Members may delete their account from Settings at any time. On deletion the account, profile, photos, documents and contact details are deleted without delay, and any pending requests and connections are closed. Items retained under law are listed in the privacy policy.

The Company may terminate an account after notice when a member no longer qualifies, breaches these terms, or has not logged in for more than a year. Serious breaches may result in immediate suspension without notice.

11.Changes and discontinuation

The Company may add, change or discontinue features. Significant changes that disadvantage members, or closure of the Service, will be announced at least 30 days in advance in the Service and by email, and members will be given time to handle their data before closure.

12.Limitation of liability

The Company is not responsible for the accuracy of member-written profiles, the outcome of meetings between members, or whether a marriage results. Nor is it responsible for damage caused by events beyond its control such as natural disasters or network failures. The Company remains liable, within the limits of applicable law, for damage caused by its own intent or gross negligence.

13.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are first addressed through discussion by email. If no agreement is reached, the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act has jurisdiction. The same applies to members living abroad, and the Korean text of these terms prevails.

14.Amendments

When these terms change, the effective date and the changes are posted in the Service and sent by email at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes that disadvantage members). Continued use after the effective date is taken as agreement. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.
